The following describes how to download and run TeamViewer Quick Support. TeamViewer is used so that a remote support agent can connect to you via the Internet and interact with your computer.
Open a web browser and go to https://teamviewer.com
Accept all cookies (they’re fine) and close the pop up chat window if it’s blocking the top right corner of the website.
In the top right corner of the website, click on Free Download
4. On the left side of the next page, click on Download Now under the Free section.
This will will take you to the next page where you’ll select which version to download.
5. Select Download (64 bit) version of TeamViewer QuickSupport
It’s usually the first one. Do not download the Full Client.
It will start to download. If your browser prompts you to confirm/allow that download approve it.
6. Find the TeamViewerQS_x64.exe file that you downloaded (typically in your Downloads folder) and run it.
A usage agreement pop up will appear. Check the box and click on Continue
7. The TeamViewer QuickSupport program will run. At first you will not see an ID number and password, but it should populate eventually.
This is the ID number and password that an agent will ask you for to connect to your computer.
NOTES
Each time you run TeamViewer Quick Support, it will generate a new password. So there are no concerns that someone can still access your computer after you close the program.
This does not install a program permanently to your computer. If you need to run TeamViewer QuickSupport again another time, simply run the TeamViewerQS_x64.exe file again.
